Terms of sale

How an order works

1. Order request. When you send your cart, you ask us to supply those books. It is not yet a purchase, and nothing is charged on this site.
2. Our reply. We check stock and shipping and email you the final total, including shipping and any sales tax, with a secure payment link.
3. Your payment. Your order is placed when you pay through that link. If you do not pay, nothing happens and you owe nothing.

We may decline or cancel an order request, for example if a book is no longer available or a price shown on the site was wrong. If we do, we tell you by email, and if you already paid we refund you in full.

Prices

Prices on the site are list prices in US dollars and can change. A book shown as "Ask us" has no current price; write to us and we will find out. The total in our email, which you see before you pay, is the price you pay.

Payment

Payment is made through a link from our payment provider, Stripe, under Stripe's own terms. We do not take card details on this site or by email, and we will never ask you to send card numbers to us.

Shipping

Printed books ship to the address in your order request. We give you the shipping cost and an estimated delivery time in our email before you pay. Please check the address carefully; tell us straight away if it is wrong.

Ebooks

Ebooks are supplied as the publisher provides them, for your own use under the publisher's licence. We tell you in our email how you will receive access.

Returns and problems

If a book arrives damaged, is not what you ordered, or never arrives, email us within 30 days of delivery (or of the expected delivery date) and we will replace it or refund you. For other returns, write to us before sending anything back; we will tell you what the publisher allows.

The books themselves

Book descriptions and covers come from the publishers. Clinical books support, and do not replace, professional veterinary judgement. We are not responsible for how the information in a book is applied.

Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited. Beyond those, our responsibility for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
